Kyitsel-ling Founders day dance performance by the senior girls

Kyitsel-ling, Tibetan Children's Education Centre

Introduction

Kyitsel-ling is a charitable undertaking of the Tibetan Children’s Educational and Charitable Society(TCECS). The founding members of the society believe that apart from the dedicated efforts of the Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala, individual Tibetans need to play an active role in the education of our children. We are located in the Tibetan settlement at Clement Town, Dehra Dun.
Through the establishment of Kyitsel-ling, the TCECS hopes to empower Tibetan children by providing them with access to quality education and resources that will help them to develop knowledge, skills and values which are essential for an individual’s overall development.

Learning Resources

A library is a crucial resource for any education center. It provides access to a vast collection of books, magazines, journals, and other materials that are essential for learning and research. Here are some of the key reasons why a library is important for an education center:

  1. Encourages reading: A library provides students and teachers with a wide range of reading materials, which can help cultivate a love of reading and improve literacy skills.
  2. Facilitates research: A library provides access to a variety of resources, such as books, journals, and databases, that are essential for research. Students can use these resources to deepen their understanding of various subjects and develop critical thinking skills.
  3. Enhances learning: A library is a space where students can learn independently or collaborate with others. It provides a quiet and focused environment for studying and research, which can enhance the learning experience.
  4. Provides access to technology: Many libraries offer access to computers, printers, and other technology that can be used for research and learning. This can be especially important for students who may not have access to these resources at home.
  5. Fosters a sense of community: A library can serve as a hub for a school or education center. It provides a shared space where students and teachers can come together to learn, collaborate, and share ideas.

Overall, a library is an essential resource for any education center. It provides students and teachers with access to a wide range of resources and creates a space for learning, research, and community building.
